Kalli Karastefanou graduated from the School of Medicine of Nis University, Serbia.

She specialised in Obstetrics - Gynaecology at ‘Theageneio’ General Hospital and ‘Papageorgiou’ General Hospital, and received her specialisation title in 2008.

She then specialised in Assisted Reproduction at the Human Reproduction Unit of the 1st Obstetrics - Gynaecology Clinic at ‘Papageorgiou’ General Hospital.

Since 2008 she has been a Scientific Associate at the 1st Obstetrics - Gynaecology Clinic and has worked at the ‘Biogenesis’ Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit.

Basil Tarlatzis is a Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics-Gynaecology and Human Reproduction. He has served as the Director of the 1st Obstetrics - Gynaecology Clinic at AUTh, and held a position as 1st Council President at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

He has served as president of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology, as well as at the International Federation of Fertility Societies. Furthermore, he is a former Alternate President of Greece’s National Authority for Medically Assisted Reproduction and the elected President of the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He has also received several distinctions and awards in Greece and abroad, among which are the ‘Arnaldo Bruno’ Premio Internazionale per la Ginecologia (International Gynaecology Award) from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (National Academy of Italy) and the ‘ASRM Service Award’ from the American Society for Reproduction Medicine.

He is also responsible for the Publication of 6 Scientific Papers and is a member of 18 International and 24 National Societies. He has participated in more than 600 International and National Conferences. His published work spans 319 scientific papers in International Scientific Journals and 85 Greek Journals, 165 scientific papers in International Conferences and 100 Greek Conferences, and he also has an H-Index of 55 with 13649 citations.

Grigorios F. Gribizis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine. During his studies he served as assistant to the Chair Physiology of the AUTh Medical Faculty.

He then interned in the following:

- General Surgery, 2nd Propadeutic Surgery Clinic AUTh, ‘Ippokrateio’ General Hospital of Thessaloniki

He then participated in the European Intern Further Training Meeting in the Netherlands, the seminar for Further Training in New Developments in In Vitro Fertilisation, Bourn Hall, Cambridge, UK, as well as in Endoscopic Surgery and Sterility, Centre for Human Reproduction, Teaching Hospital and Free University of Brussels.

He has obtained many titles and held many academic positions and since 2015 he has been a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

At the same time he works as a Scientific Associate at the ‘Biogenesis’ Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit.

Angelos S. Danielides is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine.

His clinical and academic interest focuses mainly on general obstetrics and gynaecology, with special emphasis on endoscopic surgery, as well as improving the quality in clinical and training practices.

He graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine in 1996 and specialised in Obstetrics - Gynaecology in the UK (Edinburgh and Glasgow) and in Greece at ‘Ippokrateio’ General Hospital of Thessaloniki. He completed his Doctoral Thesis at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine in 2007. He specialised in Gynaecological Endoscopy at the University Clinics of Leuven - Belgium, Clermond Ferrand - France, and Cagliari - Italy in 2006, 2012, and 2017 respectively. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Research Methodology from AUTh. (2017).

He speaks and holds language diplomas in English, French and Italian. He also holds a diploma in Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery from the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and diplomas in colposcopy (BSCCP) as well as family planning (DFFP) from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). Lastly, he is a certified trainer in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO), in colposcopy from the RCOG, and a trainer of the ESGE in gynaecological endoscopy.

Since 2006 he has been a member of the School of Medicine and the 2nd Obstetrics - Gynaecology Clinic of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (initially as part of the teaching staff hired in accordance with Presidential Decree 407, as a scientific associate and then as a lecturer, and, since 2016, as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology). Furthermore, since 2016 he has served as an elected member of the European Board of the ESGE.

Anastasios Makedos graduated in 2001 from the AUTh School of Medicine and then completed the Post Graduate Study Programme of AUTh School of Medicine. He completed his doctoral thesis on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome at the 2nd Obstetrics-Gynaecology Clinic of AUTh (2003-2006).

He received his specialisation in Obstetrics-Gynaecology in 2009 in Thessaloniki, following his training as an intern in General Surgery at ‘Agios Dimitrios’ General Hospital of Thessaloniki (2003-2004), as an intern in Obstetrics-Gynaecology at ‘Achillopouleio’ General Hospital of Volos (2004-2006), at Scarborough General Hospital, UK, (2006-2007), at Burnley General Hospital, UK, (2007) and at ‘Ippokrateio’ General Hospital of Thessaloniki (2008-2009).

Immediately after that he returned to the UK and joined the Obstetrics-Gynaecology Clinic of University College London of Royal Free Hospital, London, as an Obstetrics-Gynaecology specialist.

He received further training there in Maternal Medicine, Endoscopic Surgery, and Colposcopy, based on the BSCCP programme. He also completed his training in Family Planning and received his Diploma of Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH).

He then started working at the 1st Obstetrics-Gynaecology Clinic of AUTh, Department of Human Reproduction, as an intern in the field Human Reproduction. He continued in the same department until November 2015 as a Scientific Associate of AUTh, while since November 2015 he has been a Fellow at the Human Reproduction Unit.

He has participated in the publication of research papers and abstracts in medical journals, in the authoring of 2 chapters in medical books and various courses-workshops.

Eleni Bili graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine in 1987.

She then interned in Obstetrics - Gynaecology and received her specialisation in 1994. Later, in 1998, she received her PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine.

She then received further training at Lübeck, Germany, in In Vitro Fertilisation and Human Reproduction and continued her training at the Obstetrics - Gynaecology Clinic of Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in Assisted Reproduction, Polycystic Ovaries and Endoscopic Surgery.

Since 2015 she has worked as an Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Faculty of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has been a Scientific Associate of the ‘Biogenesis’ Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit.

Ioannis Bontis graduated in 1964 from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine and received a specialisation in ‘Surgery and Obstetrics - Gynaecology Department of the Obstetrics - Gynaecology Clinic of AUTh.’

After graduation he received his PhD and the Academic Position of Lecturer at AUTh School of Medicine.

He has participated in administrative bodies of the AUTh as Director of the Surgical Sector, as Chairman of the Committee on Bioethics and Ethics, as President of the Faculty of Medicine of AUTh, as Chairman of the Committee on Student Matters, and others.

He is a Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics - Gynaecology and a Scientific Associate at the ‘Biogenesis’ Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit.

Georgios A. Pantos graduated from 1981 from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine and received a specialisation in Obstetrics - Gynaecology from the 1st Obstetrics - Gynaecology Clinic of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

After graduating, he completed his doctoral thesis on ‘Ovarian stimulation for in vitro fertilisation and gamete intrafallopian transfer’ and received the title of Doctor from AUTh with a grade of “Excellent”. Also, he received further training at the Centre for Human Reproduction, Teaching Hospital and Free University of Brussels (AZ - VUB).

He holds many distinctions and awards, including the 1st ‘N. Louros’ Award at the 5th Pan-Hellenic Conference on Obstetrics-Gynaecology, the ‘Kerameos’ Award at the 3rd Medical Conference of Northern Greece, the 1st Prize of the 5th Conference of the American Endoscopic Society, and others.

He has also made 79 publications in International Medical Journals and 54 in Greek Medical Journals.

He has been an Associate of the Centre for Assisted Reproduction at ‘General Clinic’ and ‘Embryogenesis’ since 1992, and since 2000 he has been the Director of the Department of Endoscopic Surgery at ‘Interbalkan Medical Centre’ and Head of the Obstetrics-Gynaecology Department at 'Interbalkan Medical Centre’. At the same time, since 2013 he has worked as an Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at AUTh and is a Scientific Associate of the ‘Biogenesis’ Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit.

After graduating she completed her post graduate studies, with distinction, in Medical Genetics at the Department of Human Molecular Genetics of the School of Medicine of Newcastle University, UK.

She specialises in Gamete and Embryo Microsurgery Procedures, as well as in FISH and PCR Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis for chromosome and monogenetic disorders.

She has been working as a Clinical Embryologist at the ‘Biogenesis’ Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit since 2006.

Violeta Karachaliou graduated from the Biochemistry Department of the School of Science and Engineering of Essex University, UK. She continued her training in 2006 by attending a Post Graduate Specialisation Diploma Course at the University of Nottingham School of Medicine, UK, on Assisted Reproduction Technologies.

She trained in the application of Assisted Reproduction Techniques and worked as a Clinical Embryologist at Assisted Reproduction Units in Thessaloniki and Alexandroupoli. Since July 2016 she has been a member of the ‘Biogenesis’ Assisted Reproduction Unit.

She is a Certified Clinical Embryologist (2013) by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

She is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and of the Pan-Hellenic Association of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE).

Alexandra Tokmakidou is a Clinical Embryologist with 27 years of experience.

In 1990 she started working at the In Vitro Fertilisation Centre of the General Clinic of Thessaloniki - which was the first In Vitro Fertilisation Centre in Greece - where she gained experience in the laboratory techniques of the Embryological Laboratory.

Since 2006 she has worked at the ‘Biogenesis’ centre of ‘Genesis’ clinic in Thessaloniki.

In 2011 she trained at the world renowned IVI Centre (Valencia, Spain) in freezing ova using the vitrification technique.

She is a Clinical Embryologist with a specialisation in vitrification of oocytes and embryos.

She has attended a plethora of conferences and workshops on In Vitro Fertilisation.

Assistant Professor of Embryology - Genetics at the assisted reproduction unit, AUTh School of Medicine.

Head of the In Vitro Fertilisation and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis Laboratory, 1st Obstetrics & Gynaecology Clinic AUTh, ‘Papageorgiou’ General Hospital of Thessaloniki.

Katerina Chatzimeletiou trained and received further training for 14 years in the UK. She received a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Essex University, 1994-1997), an MSc in Human Reproductive Biology, and holds a PhD in Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Embryology.

She received further training in clinical embryology, preimplantation diagnosis and prenatal checks at Hammersmith, St Thomas, Queen Charlotte and Chelsea , St Bartholomew’s, King’s College, St George’s, and TDL hospitals in London, as well as at LGI-The Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

She has a preimplantation embryo laser biopsy license from HFEA and specialises in all assisted fertilisation techniques.

She has many years of prior experience in hospitals abroad and in Greece, as well as rich body of work in research and teaching.

After graduation she participated in the further training programme implemented by the vocational training centre of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in ‘Prenatal Psychology’.

She then graduated from ICPS College for Humanistic Science of Athens as a Mental Health counsellor.
